- History – In 1873, J.L. Hilton built a Halfway House along the Overland Trail in Windsor that became a stopping point for travelers, stages, and mail deliveries. The arrival of the railroad reduced the necessity of the House, though it remained a bustling saloon for years. The railroad transported farmers’ sugar beets and those beets were refined into table sugar at the Great Western Sugar Company between 1905 – 1966.
- Location – On the Poudre River between Greeley and Fort Collins, Highways 34, 392, and 257, offer great access to shopping, dining, and travel.
- Economic Development – CareStream Health, O-I Glass Container, Front Range Energy, Vestas, Haliburton, and others have located businesses in Windsor.
